The Lung joke Bach is a river in the Saxon Erzgebirge, a tributary of the river Mulde. The lake gets its name from the nearby places because Oberlungwitz and Niederlungwitz.

Course

After its source in the district of origin Lugauer the creek flows to the northwest, before it flows from Oberlungwitz to the west. In Oberhermsdorf of Lung joke Bach has a Umflutkanal. Between Saint Egidien and Niederlungwitz the river course to the northwest turns. Between Hermsdorf and Glauchau the railway line Dresden- Werdau uses the valley of the Lung joke Bach. Fauna

At the beginning of the 20th century, white fish still came before such as minnows, gudgeon and rudd and Bartgrundeln, eels, rare pike, tench, carp and brook lamprey. Today, the chub is very common. With a catchment area of ​​about 140 square kilometers of Lung joke Bach is one of the largest rivers of the Erzgebirge Basin. The 24 km long watercourse has a longitudinal gradient of approximately 160 m, of which 100 meters on the upper reaches - up to Hegebach mouth - omitted.
