Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong'o Amondi ( born March 1, 1983 in Mexico City) is a Kenyan actress and filmmaker. For her dramatic performance of a slave girl in the movie 12 Years a Slave she was honored at the Oscar ceremony in 2014 with the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Life

Nyong'o was born in 1983 as a subsidiary of the Kenyan politician Peter Anyang ' Nyong'o in Mexico City and grew up in Kenya. First experience she gained in a theater production company Phoenix player in Nairobi.

She studied in the United States at Hampshire College and completed her studies there with a degree in film and theater studies. She then worked for the production of various films with, among others, The Constant Gardener (2005) and Namesake - Two worlds, one trip (2006). In 2008, she starred in Marc Grey's short film starring the East River. She then returned to Kenya, where she took a role in the television series Shuga.

2009 was the documentary In My Genes on the life of Kenyan albinos, for which she wrote the screenplay and also served as director and producer recorded.

He then studied at the Yale School of Drama, where she appeared in several theater productions. Right after she got the role of Patsey in Steve McQueen movie drama 12 Years a Slave. The role earned her numerous awards, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, the Chicago Film Critics Association Award and the Critics' Choice Movie Award and a nomination for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.
