Lupus I of Aquitaine

Lupus I. (Basque: Lope, French: Loup; † about 675 ) was a Duke of Aquitaine and in parts of Gascony in the 7th century.

Lupus rebelled before the year 673 against the Dux Felix and took over the rule in Toulouse and on the west settled Vascons ( Gascony). In the year 673 he supported the rebellion of Septimania " tyrant " Paul against the supremacy of the Visigoth Wamba and besieged it Beziers. Between the years 673 and 675, he participated in Bordeaux to a council of Aquitaine episcopate. When trying to Limoges to submit to his rule, lupus was killed probably in 675 or shortly thereafter.

The next incumbent in Aquitaine duke Eudo was that occurred the first time around the year 710.
