Lustrum (novel)

Titanium is a historical novel of the writer Robert Harris. The work is the second part of the trilogy about Marcus Tullius Cicero. The book was published by Hutchinson October 8, 2009, the German translation by Heyne Verlag in the same month.

The plot is again portrayed as in the first part of the trilogy from the perspective of Cicero's house slave Tiro. The first part of the book covers his time as consul for the year 63 BC, and describes his role in uncovering the conspiracy of Catiline and passing judgment, was for him as Father patriae ( father of the nation ) paid homage. The second part deals with the period of 62-58 BC, and has about the bona Dea scandal, the resulting hostility to Publius Clodius Pulcher, and the development of the relationship with Gaius Julius Caesar, and ends with the departure of Cicero and Tiros from Rome.
