Luton George Kieshawn Shelton ( born November 11, 1985 in Kingston) is a Jamaican football player. He plays for Russian club Volga Nizhny Novgorod and is top scorer of the Jamaican national team.

Career

Association

From 2004 to 2006 Shelton played at Harbour View FC in the Jamaican capital Kingston. In 2006 he moved to Sweden to Helsingborgs IF, for which he scored 17 goals in 28 games and won the Swedish Cup. 2007, it began operations in the English professional football to Sheffield United. Here, however, he could not convince them, he scored just one goal in 28 games. In 2008, he finally signed a contract with Vålerenga in the Norwegian capital Oslo. In early 2009, he moved on loan to Danish champions Aalborg BK, where the center forward went hunting for goals by the summer break. In 2010 he returned to his parent club Vålerenga in Oslo, in 2011, he joined the Turkish first division club Kardemir Karabükspor.

After one and a half seasons in Turkey, he joined the Russian club Volga Nizhny Novgorod.

National

For the Jamaican national football team played its first match Shelton on 22 October 2004 and since then 63 times. He scored 33 goals, including four in his second international game at 12-0 against Saint Martin and five in the two qualifying matches for the 2010 World Cup against the Bahamas. He also starred in contingents of the Jamaican team in the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 in the United States. With his 28th international goal on 31 January 2010, he surpassed the record of Onandi Lowe and has since scorer of Jamaica.
