Aalborg Boldspilklub

The Aalborg Boldspilklub (short: AaB - The double -A had in the Danish alphabet until the introduction of the status of a separate letter Å ), translated Ballspielverein Aalborg is a sports club from Aalborg in Denmark. The association, which was originally founded as a cricket club, the members are now playing soccer, ice hockey and handball. Especially the football team, the Danish champion three times, is known internationally.

History

1885-1944: Emergence

AaB was founded on 13 May 1885 as Aalborg Cricket Club. The founding fathers were there primarily British engineers who built in this period, the railway network of Jutland and a sports club for domestic model wanted. This English influence, it is also due to that there football was played a few years later. Consequently, the cricket club was renamed in 1906 in Aalborg Boldspilklub. First, the AaB teams played in dark blue shirts with a red breast. Today's play clothes - red and white striped shirt along with white pants - they had according to the legend at BK Skjold, a Copenhagen club, cribbed. 1945-1990: professional football in the 1st Division

From 1945 to 1990, the 1st Division was the highest league in Danish football. As a founding member, Aalborg held 1945/46, just under the class and secured with only one more point on the tenth, and so fixed as relegated club Boldklubben 1909. With only nineteen own hits AaB presented the weakest attack in the league. 1991-2010: Introduction of the Super League and National Establishment

2011 to present: Current Development

Hockey Department

The ice hockey team of Aalborg BK has been able to win once the Danish Ice Hockey Championship in 1981. In addition, the Hockey department was ten times runner-up.
