Jimmy Nielsen

Jimmy Nielsen ( born August 6, 1977 in Aalborg ) is a Danish football player. The goalkeeper currently playing in the North American Major League Soccer Sporting Kansas City.

Career

Jimmy Nielsen was born in Aalborg and began his football career at the first division club FC B52 Aalborg before it came to Aalborg BK. His first professional contract signed the tall goalkeeper but at the Millwall FC at this time in the former Football League First Division play. His debut in the professional sector, however, he gave the Aalborg BK after Nielsen was no duty stake in England. At Aalborg BK Nielsen was a regular keeper for over ten years and won in the 1998/99 season with Aalborg the third championship of the club's history.

On 4 June 2007 Nielsen signed a contract with Leicester City came there like at FC Millwall to no use. In the " foxes " from Leicester Nielsen could not pass on Márton Fülöp Hungary, so Nielsen decided to convert in the winter transfer period the club from the East Midlands to leave.

On 23 January 2008 Nielsen signed a contract in his native Denmark with Vejle BK.

In February 2010, Nielsen signed initially for one season with the U.S. Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City before he extended this to the end of the 2011 season.

Personal

His nickname "Casino Jimmy" Nielsen owes his former U-21 team-mates Allan Kierstein Jepsen and Peter Degn. in a casino played in Vejle during a preparation for a game of Danish U- 21 team in 1999, until the early morning hours. After this became public, all three were excluded from the national team. In addition, Nielsen has been nicknamed "The White Puma ".
