Hairy Wood-rush ( Luzula pilosa )

The Hairy Wood-rush ( Luzula pilosa ), also known as Hair Hairy Wood-rush or Marbel, is a plant from the family of Rushes. The plant forms along with other early bloomers such as forest violets, wood anemone, lesser celandine or wood - sorrel spring aspect in sparse, acidophilous forests.

Distribution and location

It is widespread in Europe and Asia to Western Siberia from the plains to altitudes of 2000 meters above sea level.

Description

The fruits are loculicidal capsules. The fruit falls ripe stalks to the ground. The plant is a Selbstaussäer. The further spread of diasporas via ants ( myrmecochory ). To this end, it has the seeds of special oil and sugary bodies ( elaiosomes ) that attract ants. Fruit ripening from June to July.
