The National Polytechnic University of Lviv is one of the oldest and most important technical universities in Ukraine.

History

The story goes back to the founding of a school in the Austrian -ruled Lemberg in 1817, which was in 1844 raised to the Technical Academy. In the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria (1900-1918) decreed by the Dean on a Virilstimme in the Galician parliament. After 1918 Lviv was the Second Republic of Poland, in 1939 and again from 1945 to Ukraine, the Polish professors moved to Breslau.
