Lynch motor

Cedric Lynch ( * December 1955 ) is a British industrialist and inventor.

Lynch came to the fore during an investor from the industry and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers organized competition in which it was to let go of a motorboat with only one battery charge as much as possible.

Being without special electrical knowledge in homework self-made DC motor with permanent magnets and a few up to this time complicated components, which he made from flattened tin cans ( baked beans ) continued through energy efficiency, durability, and above all by its simplicity new standards.

After this success, Lynch went with his improved (using the Battery Vehicle Society) engine in small series and was eventually picked up by the company LEMCO to the range in the meantime, the so-called Lynch motors sells under the name " LMC The Lynch Motor Company ".

Once this has dismissed him, he has his own company Agni Motors founded by a generous severance payment, which produces a more developed form of the Lynch motor.

Its engines are due to their efficiency, their robustness, replaceable shaft and especially since they are in comparison to the low curb weight is very powerful, in the recreational marine environment, modeling and distributed in karting.

The best-known successes in which Cedric Lynch's engines were involved:

  • World record for battery-powered boats in 1989 ( 81.78 km / h)
  • World record for battery-powered boats in 2005 ( 109.56 km / h)
  • 4th place as the only self-made during the AUSTROPLAN SOLAR 1997
  • June 12, 2009: 8 out of 13 teams go in the Tourist Trophy (Isle of Man) in the first competition of the TTXGP class ( electric bikes ) with Lynch Motors. The winner is the team Agni.
