The snow Loosestrife ( Lysimachia clethroides ) or Gooseneck Loosestrife is a perennial plant of the genus Loosestrife ( Lysimachia ).

Features

The snow Loosestrife is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches the plant height of 60 to 100 cm. It forms underground runners. The leaves are oblong or broadly lanceolate, about 2 inches wide, 7 to 11 centimeters long and one another. Your bottom is not glandular dotted. The inflorescence is bent. Inflorescence axis and flower stalk are sparsely hairy. The flowers are fünfzählig. The crown is white.

The flowering period extends from July to September.

Occurrence

The snow Loosestrife is in Japan, Korea and China before on sunny, grassy slopes.

Use

The snow Loosestrife is rarely used as an ornamental plant for perennial borders and as a cut flower. The species is in cultivation since at least 1869.
