M People
M People are a British band from Manchester, consisting of Mike Pickering, Heather Small ( ex- Hot House ) and Paul Heard. The band name M People emerged from the initials of the founder Mike Pickering. With its style similar to house music pop songs she was successful in the 1990s, especially in Britain.
After their first album Northern Soul (1992 ) flopped, she had with Elegant Slumming (1993 ) and the resulting coupled- Singles her big break. For Elegant Slumming M People won the 1994 Mercury Music Prize. After this success, produced M People mastermind Mike Pickering for other artists, including Kylie Minogue. Their biggest hits in Germany were One Night In Heaven, Moving On Up and Do not Look Any Further from the album Elegant Slumming (1993).
