M. Robert Aaron

M. Robert Aaron ( born August 21, 1922 in Philadelphia, † 16 June 2007) was an American electrical engineer who specializes in telecommunications.

Aaron was born in Philadelphia, made the bachelor in 1949, in 1951 he had a master's in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1951 he began his work at Bell Laboratories. There he helped in the design of various transmission systems, including TAT- 1, the first transatlantic telephone cable. He was also a key employee in the design of T1, the beginning of the T- carrier system.

Aaron was a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE ), a Fellow at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and co- recipient of the IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal in 1978.
