Ma Liang (Three Kingdoms)

Ma Liang (马良), style name Jichang (季 常, also called Bomei白眉"White Eyebrow "; † 222 ) was an advisor to Liu Bei, the first emperor of Shu Han.

Ma Liang was born as the eldest of five brothers in Yichang. He joined Liu Bei, as he moved to the city Xinye. In Liu Bei's services to Ma Liang befriended soon with the Minister Zhuge Liang. After Liu had taken In 215 Shu, Ma Liang was a counselor of the famous general Guan Yu. He was also appointed "left General " (左 将军 掾) appointed.

As Zhuge Liang Ma Liang was also a proponent of relations with the Wu Dynasty. He was often sent as ambassadors to Sun Quan and highly respected by this. After Liu had declared himself In 221 the emperor, Ma Liang palace overseer was. He took part in the next year the campaign against Wu and reached the allegiance of the barbarian tribes between the "five streams " (五溪 蛮夷). Ma Liang fell but then in the Battle of Yiling.

His son later became supreme commander of the cavalry (骑都尉).
