Maasvlakte Light

The Vuurtoren aan de Maasvlakte (English: Lighthouse at Maasvlakte ) is a former lighthouse on the west side of the Meuse estuary in the Dutch province of Zuid -Holland.
Building
The lighthouse of the Dutch Meuse level was designed by W. Colenbrander and built in 1974. The octagonal concrete tower has a height of 65 meters and is the tallest lighthouse in the Netherlands. It was built to mark the entrance to the New Waterway and the underlying Europoort. Through its establishment two previous lighthouses in Hoek van Holland were superfluous. Today the tower is only used as a carrier of a radar device, the beacon was deactivated on 8 October 2008.
Beacon
In 2008, the disused lighthouse came from the disused lighthouse De Hoge light from Hoek van Holland and had a brightness of 2,500,000 Candela and handed 28 nautical miles. The identifier of light were five light signals in a 20 -second interval: " Fl ( 5), 20s, 28S ".
