Macau Tower

The Macau Tower is the 338 -meter high TV tower at the southern tip of Macau, a Special Administrative Region of the People 's Republic of China. He was officially opened after a construction period of three years on 19 December 2001. The tower was designed by the architectural firm of Gordon Moller CCMBECA, New Zealand.

Description

Overall, the tower has five observation decks. Among other things, there is a 360 degree rotating restaurant. The main observation deck is located at 223 meters above sea level and offers a view of up to 55 kilometers. From there, much of Macao and Taipas can overlook. The 256.6 -meter-high tower shaft attaches to its base 16 feet in diameter, at the transition to basket tower 12 meters. The height of the antenna is 90 meters.

Attractions

An unusual attraction is the walk at an altitude of 233 meters, the outer ring of approximately 1.5 meters in width, on which you can walk around the tower. This ring has no railing and walked up to the outer edge. The visitor is secured only by a safety harness and a lunge. The concept comes from the inventor of bungee Jumpings, AJ Hackett, and is called Skywalk X. Since September 2005, the new sport of Sky Jump is offered, with a related bungee jumping jump, but without the yo -yo effect. In 2007 the world's highest commercial bungee station opened on Macau Tower with a drop height of 233 meters.
