Machinae Supremacy

Machinae Supremacy is a band from Luleå, Sweden.

The band itself describes her music style as SID Metal, which is a mixture of melodic hard rock and chiptune. One of the key elements is the use of tunes from the era and the style of the Commodore 64 Machinae Supremacy use a SidStation that contains the SID chip of the C64.

History

Machinae Supremacy was founded by Robert, Kahl and Jonne in the summer of 2000. Band got two new members as Gordon, an old friend of Robert, took over the keyboard and played Tobbe drums.

In 2001, a side project with the name FLAK was founded. It turned mainly punk rock and brought to the political orientation of the band expressed. To quote the singer: " FLAK is ... aggression and pain: . It's a band, but it 's nothing serious, just a Means of expression " This project was discontinued soon.

2002 Tobbe left the band and Tomas, a former bandmate of Robert, took his place. There have also been Machinae Supremacy on the Demo Party Assembly in Helsinki / Finland, which earned them special popularity among many members of the demoscene. The band was also known for the free publication of songs on the Internet, the so-called " Webreleases " can still be found on their website.

2005 Kahl left the band because of his move to Uppsala; his place was Johan ' Poe ' Palovaara. 2006 the band changed again their occupation, but the members remained the same: Gordon took over Roberts role as guitarist, this focused henceforth on the vocals. The keyboard parts were played from then electronically during live performances. In November 2007, Johan Machinae Supremacy Palovaara left because of other priorities, including his band slideshow. His successor, Johan " Dezo " Hedlund.

The album Deus Ex Machinae appeared on 1 May 2004 and was designed by Music by Design Records Ltd.. ( MBD ) released in the UK.

Furthermore, the band wrote the soundtrack for the computer game Jets'n'Guns, which is available for Windows and Linux ..

2005 appeared a second edition of Deus Ex Machinae with the bonus track Soundtrack to the Rebellion. 2005 MBD Records disbanded, but the copyright of the first album to Machinae Supremacy has been transferred. On 13 November 2011, the band Deus Ex Machinae released for free download on their website. The version of Attack Music on the album Deus Ex Machinae differs from the version ready for download in the following: the sample of the series Futurama which can be heard in the intro was cut out.

In March 2006, appeared after a long and unsuccessful search for a label, the second album Redeemer in complete independently. Since mid-2006, Machinae Supremacy is the Finnish record label Spinefarm Records. Redeemer been re-mixed and released with a different cover and a slightly different track list with Spinefarm in November 2006. Since then, the albums Overworld and A View From are 2008 The End Of The World appeared, also with Spinefarm.

Twisted Dreams, to which they contributed to the soundtrack with Chris Hülsbeck: In October 2012, the video game Giana Sisters appeared.
