Geography

Mackensen is located on Spüligbach between Solling and Office mountains at an altitude of 200 m above sea level. NN. On the northern outskirts of the village lies the Heukenberg.

History

The first written mention of the village Mackanhusen survives in the Corveyer traditions from the period 826-876. In the Middle Ages the town was in Suilbergau.
