The Mackintosh River is a river in the north-west of the Australian state of Tasmania.

The river arises about 4 km west of Mount Remus on the northwest corner of the Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park from the Fury River and Mackintosh Creek. There also the Lake Mackintosh, extending almost the entire length of the river begins. In it the Mackintosh River runs in an arc, first to the west and then southwest. North of the small town of Tullah he leaves the lake at the bottom of the dam and flows a few kilometers into Lake Rosebery, where he, together with the Murchison River to Pieman River.

Dam

The Mackintosh River was dammed north of the small town of Tullah to Lake Mackintosh. This is the largest reservoir in the catchment area of ​​the Pieman River. Hydrological measurements on the flow were carried out by Hydro Tasmania in 1955.
