Madeleine Milhaud

Madeleine Milhaud ( born March 22, 1902 in Paris, † January 17, 2008 ibid ) was a French librettist, actress and author. She was the widow and cousin of the composer Darius Milhaud, whom she married in 1925.

Madeleine Milhaud began young as an actress and reciter and came together with many artists of her time. In 1928 she was involved in Dadaist Hans Richter's Ghosts Before Breakfast film.

She has worked with Darius Milhaud a son, the painter Daniel Milhaud (* 1930). Darius ' Piano Suite La Muse Ménagère from 1944, is dedicated to her and provides a setting of their common daily life dar. Madeleine Milhaud wrote the libretti for the operas Médée Bolivar and her husband.
