Madeline Miller

Madeline Miller ( born July 24, 1978 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American writer.

Career

Miller grew up in New York and Philadelphia. She studied classical philology at Brown University and graduated in 2000 with a BA and MA from 2001 with the. Since then she has taught Latin and Greek in high schools, most recently in Cambridge, Mass.. After she had written ten years because they published in September 2011 her debut novel, The Song of Achilles ( Eng.: The Song of Achilles ). He draws on Homer's Iliad tells a love story between Achilles and Patroclus.

In May 2012, Madeline Miller was awarded the Orange Prize for Fiction.
