Madge Ryan

Madge Ryan ( born January 8, 1919 in Townsville, Queensland, † January 9, 1994 in London, England) was an Australian actress.

Life

Ryan was in Australia already an established theater actress, as Laurence Olivier she won in 1957 with the original cast of Summer of the 17th Doll to London's West End. After great success in London, the piece beginning of 1958 was also performed on Broadway. After 29 performances, she returned to London and played at the Old Vic Theatre, among others, in Shakespearean productions such as Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet and the title role in Berthold Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children.
