Madison Avenue (Band)

Madison Avenue was an Australian dance project from Melbourne.

Biography

DJ Andy Van from Melbourne, who has already been successful as a remixer, among others, for Tina Arena and was awarded an ARIA Award, met in the late 1990s, the singer and dancer Cheyne Coates. Together they founded the project Madison Avenue.

With the song Do not Call Me Baby they had on their international breakthrough in 1999 in Australia and the year. After 2nd place in Australia with triple platinum status the song went to # 1 in the UK and New Zealand, and reached the top of the U.S. dance charts. In addition, there could still place in many other countries. The second single, Who the Hell Are You? could follow up on this, this time the song reached number 1 in Australia (platinum ) and in the U.S. dance charts and nevertheless still ranked 10th in the UK.

With the album The Polyester Embassy and two other singles, the duo was able to maintain only in their home in the top ten, then stayed the success and they parted again. Van Dorsselaer was the mid-2000s with the band Vandalism successfully in Australia.
