Magical Girl

Magical Girl (魔法 少女jap, maho shōjo also魔女っ子or魔女っ娘, Majokko, the German " Magic Girl " ) is the name of a genre of anime and manga. It is one of the main genres of shōjo manga, which is targeted at female, young audience. As a genre, however, is not limited to this target group, but occurs, for example in his factories.

Features

A Magical Girl is a young, female character ( Bishojo ) which acquires supernatural powers through a special object, and whose fate it is to fight against dark forces. In addition, the figure has often small errors such as clumsiness and everyday problems, with which it has to fight alongside the main story.

Typical Magical Girl transformation sequences themselves are repetitive and the game with the resulting multiple identities. These support the main character receives mostly in the form of a small supernatural being like a fairy or cat.

Works

As the first Magical- Girl, as well as shōjo anime Maho Tsukai Sally applies which aired from 1966 to 1968, based on the eponymous manga by mitsuteru Yokoyama ran simultaneously and in turn was inspired by the U.S. sitcom Bewitched. Magical Girl manga but there was before, as Himitsu no Akko -chan by Fujio Akatsuka which appeared between 1962 until 1965.

Among the most important works of the genre is one of the manga Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi, who first came in 1998 on the German market and is regarded as one of the triggers of the later success of manga. Other well-known in Germany Magical Girl series include Wedding Peach, DoReMi, Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne, Cardcaptor Sakura, Cutey Honey and Pretty Cure.
