Magnus V of Norway

Magnus Erlingsson (* 1156 in Norway, † June 15, 1184 by the Sognefjord ) was when Magnus V 1161-1184 King of Norway.

Magnus was the son of Erling Skakke and Kristin, the daughter of King Sigurd the Jerusalem driver. Magnus was crowned in 1163 or 1164 by Archbishop Øystein Erlendsson and was the first crowned King of Scandinavia. The first years of his reign continued his father's business. Magnus came at the Battle of Fimreite in the fight against King Sverre Sigurdsson killed.

A stone monument in Nornes at Sogndal reminded of this battle.
