Mahamahopadhyaya

Mahamahopadhyaya ( Sanskrit: महामहोपाध्याय, mahāmahopādhyāya ) is an Indian honorific, which was normally awarded to Sanskrit scholars. During the colonial period the carrier had the right to participate in the Durbar, where they stood in rank behind the titular Rajas. His Muslim equivalent is Shams -ul- Ulama.
