Mahmoud Wagdy

Lieutenant General Mahmoud Wagdy ( Egyptian Arabic محمود وجدى, DMG Mahmoud Waǧdī; born March 23, 1948 in El - Beheira ) was from 31 January 2011 to 6 March 2011, the Egyptian Minister of the Interior. Life

Wagdy served as sergeant until he came to the Cairene criminal investigation. Wagdi completed his legal studies with a diploma in Police Sciences in 1968. First, he was the chief investigator in the district El- Zaitoun, then deputy chief of police in Heliopolis, then chief investigator of the East- Cairene sector. From 1992 to 1999 he was Director of the Criminal Investigation Cairene.

His political career led by the Home Office and made him the Director General of Police of Kaliobia, Kafr al- Sheikh and Al - Minya. He was also top prison boss. Later he became assistant to the minister of the interior, then the first assistant to the interior minister and member of the Supreme Council police. He has two merit medals and spoke at many local and international security conferences. Most recently, he was Vice - Minister of the Interior Habib al - Adli next to Interior Minister.

In response to the revolution in Egypt in 2011, he was appointed Minister of the Interior by President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak on January 31, 2011.
