Maine Coast Railroad

The Maine Coast Railroad (MC ) was a local railway company in Maine (United States). Its headquarters was located in Wiscasset. The railway company was founded in 1990 and leased the railway Brunswick- Rockland (92 miles) from the state of Maine. On 26 October 1990, the MC took to the road to Rockland. On 30 December 1992, the MC also leased the railway Brunswick Augusta ( 53 km), on which the company was incorporated in September 1995. The state had two stretches bought in 1985 by the Guilford Transportation, after they had set the freight.

In addition, the Maine Coast Railroad ran a tourist train, which, later reversed by Warren in the summer of Wiscasset to Newcastle. The lease for the rail lines ran from December 4, 2000 and was not renewed. The Maine Coast Railroad was thereupon be dissolved. Three years later took over the Maine Eastern Railroad, the routes and carried on the business.

The railway company had four diesel locomotives, namely two MLW M420R, an Alco RS- 11 and an Alco S-1, stationed in Rockland.
