Malakhovka, Moscow Oblast
Malakhovka (Russian Малаховка ) is an urban-type settlement with 24 004 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in Moscow Oblast, Russia.
Location
Malakhovka located in the southeastern part of Moscow Oblast, 30 km from Moscow, in the immediate vicinity of the settlement Kraskovo. Other nearby locations include the city and the raion center Ljuberzy and the settlement Bykowo.
By Malakhovka the railway Moscow - Ryazan -Kazan, which begins in Moscow on Kazan station runs. This Malakhovka by regular daily commuter trains (called Elektritschki ) is connected.
History
The first written mention of the village Małachowo already existed in the early 14th century, under the Moscow Grand Prince Ivan Kalita. However, a reliable assignment of this place name to Malakhovka is not possible today. More detailed documentation on the site, there was only from the mid -19th century.
In 1865, the important railway connecting Moscow was opened to Ryazan, which led past the village in 1884 was at the track then a station called Malakhovka. Since then, the town has developed increasingly as Datschensiedlung for wealthy Muscovites - in the 1910s they already counted about 3,000 inhabitants, in the summer months, even a multiple thereof. For those seeking relaxation originated in Malakhovka early 20th century, a summer theater, in its performances, prominent artists such as Fyodor Chaliapin participated.
After the First World War orphans settlement was especially set up for Jewish orphans in the village, taught at the Marc Chagall, the Nister and others.
In the 1930s and in the post-war period not only more Datschenviertel were built in Malakhovka, but also a variety of public facilities and houses by urban model.
