Malcolm Mitchell-Thomson, 3rd Baron Selsdon

Malcolm McEacharn Mitchell - Thomson, 3rd Baron Selsdon ( born October 27, 1937) is a British politician, member of the House of Lords and businessman.

Life

He is the son of racer Peter Mitchell - Thomson, 2nd Baron Selsdon. In 1965 he married his first wife, Patricia Anne Smith. From this marriage a son is sprung. After the divorce from his first wife he married in 1995 Gabrielle Williams in second marriage.

After visiting the renowned Winchester College, where he served from 1956 to 1958 in the Royal Navy and retired as a sub - lieutenant of the reserve from the military service. Between 1959 and 1963 Lord Selsdon worked for the UAM Group, from 1964 to 1972 for the advertising agency London Press Exchange Group and from 1972 to 1976 for the merchant bank Singer & Friedlander. He then moved to Midland Bank where he worked from 1976 to 1990 as Director for International Banking and consultant for public financing. Between 1978 and 1998 he worked for the Merloni Group and from 1994 to 1998 Raab Karcher. Since 1996 he worked for MJ Gleeson Group Plc.

Association activities

He was President of the Anglo-Swiss Society 2001. Between 1992 and 1998, Malcolm Mitchell -Thomson president of the British Exporters' Association, that the Association of British exporters.

Policy

Liverpool took over in 1963 after his father's death in 1907 the title of " Baron Selsdon " and on 30 July 1963 his seat in the House of Lords by writ as a Barony. After the House of Lords Act 1999 come into force, he was among the 92 hereditary lords who could keep their mandate. This choice was made as a partisan of the Conservative Party.

1972 to 1978 he was a British delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council.
