Maldives national football team
The Maldivian national football team is the national team of the Maldives, an Asian island state, and is run by the Football Association of Maldives. It is one of the most unsuccessful teams in Asia. The best position in the FIFA World Ranking was the 126th place, the team finished in July 2006. The Maldives played only against Asian teams. Only once - on 13 October 2004 against Vietnam - scored a victory against a team of the top 100 of the FIFA World Ranking. All other victories were won against teams ranked 111-199.
