Malik Akhmedilov

Abdul Malik Achmedilow (Russian Абдулмалик Ахмедилов; Call Name: Malik; * 1975 or 1976, † 11 August 2009) was a Russian journalist critical of the government.

Achmedilow was deputy editor of the Avar language newspaper in " Chakikat " (engl.: "truth" ) and chief editor of the monthly magazine Avar " Sogratl " ( Sogratl is the name of a mountain village in Dagestan ). He was a fierce critic of Russian and Dagestani security forces, accusing them of suppressing religious and political dissidents under the guise of the fight against extremism. He was also known for his investigative reports on the murder of senior officials in Dagestan.

In the spring of 2006, he had participated as an intern at the International Internship Programme of the German Parliament and was the former Member of Parliament Margrit Wetzel office operates.
