Malo Središte

Malo Središte (Cyrillic: Мало Средиште, Romanian Srediştea, Hungarian Kisszerend, German small Sredischte ) belonging to the municipality of Vršac town in the South Banat County in the southeastern province of Vojvodina in Serbia. It is situated directly on the north slope of the ridge Vršačke Planine.

Population

Malo Središte has about 120 inhabitants, of whom about 90 percent of Romanians, Serbs five percent and five percent of Hungary. This is spoken in the village next to Serbian and Romanian and Hungarian.

Culture and sights

In the village there is a much visited church. At the foot of Gudurički vrh ( s highest point of Vojvodina) is a chapel with an attached monastery, which is managed today. Regularly coaches come to visit the monastery to the village.
