Potporanj

Potporanj ( Serbian Cyrillic Потпорањ ) is a village in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina.

Geography

Potporanj is (Serbian: Okrug South Banat ) in the municipality of Vršac in the district of southern Banat, near the Serbian-Romanian border. The village is situated 84 m above sea level in the southeast of the Pannonian Plain. The place is a find spot of objects of the Neolithic Vinča culture.

Population

In 2002 Potporanj had 311 inhabitants, while in 1991 there were still 390 residents. The majority of the population is Christian Orthodox.
