The acid lake inside the Kratersbdep2

The Maly Semjatschik (Russian Малый Семячик ) is a volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia.

The crest of the mountain has a length of 3 kilometers with three craters. Its height is 1560 meters.

The southern crater, the Troitsky ( Троицкий ) is noteworthy because there is a 180 meter deep turquoise colored acid lake in it. About 170-200 meters below the crater rim is an approximately round crater with a diameter of 510-590 m, which consists of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid of high concentration. The water temperature is 27-42 degrees Celsius.

A descent to the lake is possible in good weather, but acid vapors do not allow a longer stay near the shore.
