Mamadou Zongo

Mamadou Zongo (nicknamed Bebeto, born October 8, 1980 in Bobo-Dioulasso, Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso) is a former football player and current coach of the West African nation of Burkina Faso.

Career

After a successful season with his hometown club Racing Club Bobo-Dioulasso Zongo joined ASEC Abidjan in the Ivory Coast. First stop in Europe was then Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands. Again and again had to take a long injury lay-offs Zongo. About De Graafschap 2006 he changed to the second Greek League to Ethnikos Piraeus. After one season, he moved to Romania at Universitatea Cluj. In the spring of 2008 he moved to his native Burkina Faso to ASFA Yennenga Ouagadougou. There, he finished his career in 2011.

Internationally

Zongo took part for the Burkinabe national team at the African Cup of Nations 2000. He played between 1996 and 2005 in 21 international matches for Burkina Faso.

Coaching career

After the end of his career he was on April 8, 2013 Coach of the Burkinabé Premier League club Santos FC Ouagadougou.
