Mamers Vallis

Mamers Vallis is a long, located in the northern part of the planet Mars mountain. About 1000 km stretching, it crosses the highlands Arabia Terra region ( Arab land ) over the Cerulli Crater up to Vastitas Borealis, the largest flat plane of the planet.

In the middle part of Vallis Mamers measures the width of about 25 km, the altitude around 1200 m. Mamers is the Oscan word for Mars, after which the mountain was named in 1976.

Linear gradients at the foot of the mountain indicate covered by rock ice streams. The most common theory on the origin of the mountain states that it was formed by either water or lava, flowing from the south to the north.
