Mammillaria sanchez - mejoradae is a species of the genus Mammillaria in the cactus family ( Cactaceae ). The specific epithet honors the Mexican cacti specialists Hernándo Sánchez- Mejorada.

Description

Mammillaria sanchez - mejoradae grows individually with flattened spherical to spherical bright green shoots and reaches diameters of 1-3 centimeters stature heights of up to 3 centimeters. The warts are conical. They contain no latex. The axillae are bald. A central mandrel is provided. The 30 to 40 hair-like, stiff white spines are like a comb on the warts and are 1.5 to 2 millimeters long.

The bell-shaped flowers are pinkish white. They are up to 1.6 inches long and can reach a diameter of 2 centimeters. The spherical fruits are completely hidden in the shoots. They have a diameter of 3-8 mm and contained black seeds.

Mammillaria sanchez - mejoradae is common in the Mexican state of Nuevo León.

The first description was in 1992 by Rodrigo González. A synonym is Escobariopsis sanchez - mejoradae ( Rodr.González ) Doweld.
