Mamou Region
Mamou is a region of Guinea. It lies in the center of the country, on the border with Sierra Leone. Its capital is the same Mamou. The region has about 640,000 inhabitants and consists of the prefectures Dalaba, Mamou and pita. These are each named after their capital.
Geographically Mamou is primarily in the highlands of Fouta Djallon.
