Man catcher

The human scavenger (also: Witch Catcher ) is a non-lethal weapon rod from the Middle Ages, which was used for trapping volatile and to fight against cavalry.

It is often an open semi-circular metal having a snapping back V-shaped inlet, for preventing the escape in the opposite direction; inside barbs or spines are attached. This device is placed the fugitives to legs, arms or neck and prevents progress.

People catcher is available in different versions in different countries.

In the 18th century people catcher were still used by the Prussian army to capture deserters.
