Manchester Phoenix

The Manchester Phoenix are an association founded in 2003 as a successor to Manchester Storm ice hockey club of the city of Manchester in England. They play in the British English Premier Ice Hockey League. The matches will be played in the Altrincham Ice Dome, which has a capacity of around 2,000 seats.

History

After 2002, the team Manchester Storms had collapsed, was raised in 2003 on the initiative of the Friends of Manchester Ice Hockey, a new professional hockey team of the baptism. The Manchester Phoenix were then founding member of the Elite Ice Hockey League and played in the 17,500 -seater MEN Arena. Since there the games but could not be economically discharged, the new Altrincham Ice Dome was built and opened in September 2006. Since the season 2006/ 07 the games of the Phoenix thus be discharged there.
