Mandibular canal

The mandibular canal (from Latin canna " reed" and mandible, of Mandere "chew " ) ( mandibular canal ) is a canal in the body of the mandible, the mandibular foramen begins and ends at the mental foramen. He usually does not affect the roots, but can be encompassed in the distal portion of them.

In him the saphenous artery and extend inferior alveolar and inferior alveolar nerve (3rd branch of the trigeminal nerve ).
