Mandrill (band)

The band Mandrill is an African American music band from Brooklyn, New York.

The originating from Panama Wilson brothers Louis, Richard, Carlos and Wilfredo founded the band in 1971 in New York. The breadth of her repertoire ranges from Latin, salsa, blues and jazz to rock, funk & soul.

Mandrill's music was for the soundtracks of various movies (including " The Greatest ", 1977, directed by Tom Gries, Monte Hellman and "The Warriors", 1979, directed by Walter Hill ) used. Samples from mandrill pieces have been used later by many musicians from the area of ​​the hip hop and rap.
