Mandurriao, Iloilo City

Mandurriao is one of the six districts of Iloilo City, the capital of the eponymous province in the southern part of the Philippine island of Panay and is located in the western part of the Visayas. The former township was officially incorporated in 1937 to Iloilo City.

The village originally consisted of small villages and sprawling rice fields, until he was highly urbanized in the early 1980s by the city government and economically driven. Here was the old Mandurriao Domestic Airport, which is now being developed by Megaworld Corporation to industrial expansion of the city. There is also the Benigno Aquino Avenue ( Diversion Road), where the largest shopping mall SM City Iloilo, bars, offices, nightclubs, cafes, expensive hotels and restaurants. The place is now regarded as the center of the vibrant night life in Iloilo City.

Notable attractions include the Nightlife Strips of Smallville Business Complex and Riverside Business Park and the old church and the market place of Mandurriao Plaza.
