Manfred Bockenfeld

Manfred Bock Field (born 23 July 1960 Oeding ) is a former German football player.

Career

Born and raised in Westmünsterland learned Manfred Bock field playing football in the youth of the FC Oeding. He began his career in 1978 in the Oberliga Nordrhein at the 1 FC Bocholt, with which he ascended to the 2nd Bundesliga 1979/80. After a strong second division season in which he scored 14 goals as a defender in 41 missions, Bockfeld changed in the summer of 1981 in the Bundesliga to Fortuna Dusseldorf. Here he quickly developed under coach Jörg Berger one of the best defenders in the league. Germany coach Jupp Derwall gave him in February 1984 in a DFB - up match for Euro 1984 chance in the national team against Bulgaria, but with this single use, it remained in his career. After relegation from the Bundesliga Bockfeld moved from Dusseldorf to SV Waldhof Mannheim. But his most successful period began when Otto Rehhagel took him in 1989 to Werder Bremen. By Bremen in 1992 he won the final against AS Monaco the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1993 and the German Cup. After a few injuries, the 33 -year-old Bockfeld found no connection to the basic formation and moved in 1994 to the Regionalliga West back to 1 FC Bocholt, where he finished his career in 1997. Manfred Bock field clocked up 336 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 34 goals.

Today he works in an insurance company in his hometown Südlohn - Oeding.
