Manfred Müller

Manfred Müller ( born July 28, 1947 in Essen) is a former German football player and television producer

Career as a player

Goalkeeper Manfred Müller began his career at Schwarz-Weiß Essen, for whom he played until 1971. Then he moved to Wuppertal SV, a fellow in the Regionalliga West. With Wuppertal he rose in 1972 in the Bundesliga on. The newcomer reached a much-publicized fourth place at the end of the 1972 season / 73rd The team was relegated in 1975 but again, with Müller as a goalkeeper. In 1976, he signed then the 1st FC Nuremberg, with the rise in 1978 succeeded. In May 1978 Müller survived a serious car accident unharmed. In the international final of the European Champions' Cup in 1982 ( 0-1 against Aston Villa) he suffered a defeat. With FC Bayern München in 1980 and 1981, German football champion and as a substitute goalkeeper in 1984 German Cup winner.

Career as a sports manager

In 1984, he ended his career and began working as the management of the 1st FC Nuremberg. He returned again for a game as a substitute for the rotgesperrten after an emergency brake Andreas Kopke on 1 November 1986 to score the 1st FC Nuremberg back.
