Manohar Parrikar

Manhoar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar ( Konkani: मनोहर गोपालकृष्ण प्रभु पारिकर Manohar Gopālkṛṣṇa Prabhu Pārikar [ mʌno ː hʌr ɡo ː pa ː lkrɪʂɳʌ prʌb ʱ u pa ː rɪkʌr ]; born December 13, 1955 in Mapusa ) is an Indian politician (BJP ) in the state of Goa. He's since March 9, 2012 Office of the Chief Minister ( head of government) of Goa. Previously, he held the office from 2000 to 2005.

Manohar Parrikar was born on 13 December 1955 in the town of Mapusa in North Goa. He studied metallurgy at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and graduated with a bachelor's degree. In 1994 he was one of the first four deputies who entered for the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP ) in the Parliament of the State of Goa. His constituency has Parrikar Panaji defend since then at each subsequent election (1999, 2002, 2007 and 2012 ). After the BJP had become the second largest party in 1999, Parrikar took over the office of the opposition leader. After the ruling Congress Party had split into two factions and some of the congressman had defected to the BJP, Manohar Parrikar was elected on 24 October 2000 as Chief Minister. Thus, the BJP came to power for the first time in Goa. After the snap elections in 2002 Parrikar was confirmed in office. But even during the current legislative period he lost the parliamentary majority and had on 2 February 2005 as the Chief Minister to resign. For the rest of the legislative period and after the 2007 election, which won the Congress Party, Parrikar again acted as an opposition leader. In the 2012 election, the BJP won an absolute majority, so Manohar Parrikar was sworn in as chief minister again on March 9, 2012.
