Mansur ibn Nasir

Al- Mansur ibn al-Nasir († 1104) was the sixth ruler of the Hammadids in Algeria ( 1088-1104 ).

Under al - Mansur, the son of al-Nasir ibn Alumnas (1062-1088) the decline of Hammadidenreichs began. Even if he succeeded with the help of Bedouin troops to conquer Algiers by the Almoravids (1102 ), he could not be kept under control, the troubled Bedouin tribes. A permanent backup of roads and trade routes was no longer possible resulting in the significant impairment of trade and agriculture. So had a part of the harvest to the Bedouin be assigned.

Due to the uncertainty in the interior of maritime trade for the empire continued to gain importance, which is why Bejaia ( Bidschaya / Bougie on the Mediterranean ) was able to prevail at the expense of the old residence al - Qa ` la as the most important economic center in the kingdom itself. The population of al - Qala in increasingly off after Bidschaya / Bougie. From contemporaries, especially the luxury of Hammadids and the sophisticated intellectual life in Bidschaya is highlighted.

Under his son al - ` Aziz ibn al - Mansur (1104-1121) the residence of the empire was finally moved to Bidschaya and al - Qala abandoned. With Yahya ibn al - ` Aziz (1121-1152), the last Hammadide ascended the throne of the kingdom. 1152 the Hammadidenreich was conquered by the Almohads.
