Manuel Martínez (footballer)

Manuel Martínez Iñiguez ( born January 3, 1972 in Guadalajara, Jalisco ), also known by the nickname El Matador, is a former Mexican football player whose root position was located in the ( defensive ) midfielder.

Life

Association

"El Matador" Martínez began his professional career in the 1991/92 season with his hometown club Chivas Guadalajara, for whom he played until the season 998/99 and with whom he won the Mexican championship in the summer of 1997. About Leon he came to the CD Toluca, with the 2000 he won his second title in the Apertura. He then played a half season in his hometown of Guadalajara for the CF Atlas, the city rivals of his Exvereins Chivas before joining for the 2001 /02 season for CF La Piedad and played in the 2002/03 season for Querétaro FC after this club the had taken Erstligalizenz of La Piedad.

National

In the summer of 1995, "El Matador" Martínez to three short-term international appearances for the Mexican national team against Colombia ( 0-0), Paraguay (1:2 ) and the USA (0-0 ). His fourth and final international appearance, he completed on 5 July 2000 in a 2-1 victory against Venezuela.
