Manuel Trucco

Manuel Trucco Franzani ( born March 18, 1875 in Cauquenes, † October 25, 1954 in Santiago de Chile) was a Chilean politician. From 3 September to 15 November 1931 he officiated as acting as president of his country.

In 1918 he held the post of Director-General of the Chilean railway and sat down for the electrification of the lines towards the south. In the transitional cabinet of Juan Esteban Montero Rodríguez Trucco served in the office of Minister of the Interior. When Montero was a candidate for the presidential elections in 1931, he transferred the presidency to Trucco. After easily defeating Monteros this also took the provisional duties, on 15 November again into their own hands. From 1932 to 1938, Trucco Chilean Ambassador to the United States; then he retired from politics.

Manuel Trucco joined in 1946 into public life, taking on the office of the Governor of the Central Bank of Chile took over under President Gabriel González Videla, a position he held until 1951.
